I went on to pay the invoice and the balance showed $0. Thus far I am unable to pay.
Sure seems like WM is trying to make people be late to collect late fees if it shows $0 balance. Weaponized incompetence.
I have a card saved for auto pay but for some reason they never took the money. I assumed that they were taking their fees every month. I called to close my account and request a final pickup which they scheduled and never mentioned any unpaid amount. Two months later I received a bill for over $800 in unpaid fees.
Amanda via chat was 100% useless and said that fees could not be waived even though I had never been contacted about this issue and SPOKE TO A REPRESENTATIVE WHO NEVER MENTIONED IT.
When I logged into the portal to pay it said that I have an account balance of $0 and would not let me make any payment.
I have previously always had other options for garbage and recycling services and chosen WM because they were easy to deal with. After this I will not be using WM again.

I have been unhappy with WM since the first year of our 3-year contact of a 20 yard commercial dumpster. I had told ALL of my CSR's over the 3 years (they constantly change) that I wanted to cancel service as soon as my contract was up.
NOT ONE CSR told me I had to send in a certified written letter canceling service. BUT - You cannot give that notice more than x amount of months in advance AND within 90 days of your contract expiring OR it auto renews for another 12 months!!! They have pages of fine print, which of course I and the average person does not read, and this is the reason why! They know they are terrible and they have to trick customers into staying longer, or give them THOUSANDS of dollars to buy out your new agreement.
You can NEVER reach your CSR and they do not have direct extensions. The dispatch service is terrible and unreliable.
They continually add "sur charges" on top of all the other charges and nickle and dime you to death! DO NOT USE WM!

Pathetic. Customer Service is hidden behind a convoluted system with no direct access.
Drivers are inept, spiteful and incompetent. Contacted CS online to notify them that my bin was being taken a half mile down the road and asked for the drive to leave it at the address. Driver came by the next run - drove right past my house. Emptied all the other bins in my section of the neighbourhood (cannot attest to the rest but I have pictures of the emptied bins on my street).
He was on the phone. This is spiteful and childish behaviour from a grown person. I work from home and my office looks out front so I can see.
Rude and pathetic is all the assistance given by this company. Told he would return by 6:30pm today but as he purposefully drove by my house the first time I have NO hopes of anything happening.

Waste Management increased my total monthly fee for residential and trash pick-up nearly three times the original rate in 3 years, with the most substantial increase within the past year. The rates also fluctuated due to "fuel costs".
They charged $75 plus "fees" (which = $95.70) to cancel service, which is not disclosed at the time of initiating service. Not to mention they tacked on another $13.50 for a late fee to equal $109.20, even though the delay was mostly due to their billing errors and delay in responding to inquiries. They have measures in place to avoid being able to speak to an actual person.
When you finally receive a response from an actual person after filing a formal complaint, they are prepared with scripted, generic responses and blame the consumer. WM is deceptive and calculated in offering appealing promotional rates and then disguising their additional fees.

Preferred solution: I would like a new yard waste container since mine is falling apart. I would like to have my garbage recycle and yard waste dumped As scheduled. And if they miss to pick the garbage up off the street. Too do their job.
User's recommendation: I have been a customer for over 20 years, My containers are falling apart, and they are often missed. They forget to dump them. I don’t know if they’re on their route or what? I pay my bill every month. You would think I could have my containers dumped every week and possibly replaced since they are so old. I have made requests, but they have not followed up or followed through

They are growing increasingly less organized and responsive and more re comfortable with blaming the weather (who knew it would snow in winter?) and holidays (who knew we had scheduled holidays?) for changing schedule without prior notice. Lazy and stupid - I feel very...
Additionally I had made known my preference for notice of service alteration by either e-mail or text and had always received such notice.
January 2024 unfortunately included two holidays that fell on a Monday. When I viewed your website to check for service alteration the only information to be found was a notice that my service might be affected by the holiday - the service date still showed the regular Thursday date. I called your Customer Service number which connected me to an electronic response system that was useless. Finally forcing my way to a human representative, I asked for confirmation of service date alteration.
Your representative was shocked (as was I) when they realized that they could not confirm my service date. I finally received an e-mail after 4 PM on Thursday confirming that pickup would be delayed to Friday. I never received a text notification.
By this time my garbage had been sitting outside my house since 6 AM but luckily due to the season my alternative garbage pickup service had not gotten to it first.
This alternative service is provided by Eastern Black Bears, which are abundant in my neighborhood, very reliable if not punctual and not at all neat.
I cannot believe that your local service had not determined by the preceding week that my service would be delayed one day due to the holiday, and cannot fathom why your company chose to hide this information from me. If you choose not to address and rectify this egregious business practice, please recall that there are two other residential trash removal services in my vicinity that are eager for my business.

Beth Aldrich:When I spoke with the (Full of) Waste person on the phone, I told him that I needed a small container for 1 day. He insisted that I had to pay for 3 days since it was a Thursday when I called.
He told me that my charge would be about $500, which seemed high for a small container for 1 day. But I went along with it. My first mistake was TRUSTING your PHONE WASTE MANAGER.
I suggest that you go back to your phone guy and ask him what he told me on the phone. If he tells you that he told me $1,000+ for 1 day of use, I suggest that you fire him.
If you don't, then I know that I can't trust ANYONE at the full of waste management business. You have got to be smoking wacky weed if you think that your dumpsters are worth over $1,000 per day.
Start attending church and maybe you can learn something about how you should treat others ... as well as lying.
You signed your email "sincerely" which just further convinces me that you are out-of-touch with reality. But wait, ...
everything is bigger in Texas, to include your egos, your cost-for-services, and your taste for dishonesty.
Beth, be looking for both your letter and mine to be posted all over the internet.

Fed up
Waste Management : I dont usually do reviews but this company has me so frustrated! I will say the drivers have been friendly and pleasant and do leave my cans relatively neat.
BUT: pick ups are inconsistent. Yes, they send emails about any schedule change, but its usually AFTER the expected time/day of pick-up. Basically unable to talk to them in person, everything (except answer to your question) is done on line; finding a phone number for your service area is impossible. If you do manage to reach them, its all automated- no person .
If they miss a pick up, they dont credit you unless you request it personally.
Also, We understood we were allowed 1 bulk item (per pick up) but when I schedule on line Im being charged for it. I dont know how other waste companies compare, but we are going to get a new one and compare!

They were fine then one day decided to start charging me $260 fine every time they pick the dumpster up and the lids aren't closed. My regular cost of services is $130 a month but the fee if the lids are one inch open is $260.
See photo attached. When you call and ask them why they are being insane they lecture you about how if the lids don't close they are taking more trash so its your fault for filling the dumpster too full. I also found out I signed a 3 year contract with a blank check to get out of the contract. Avoid waste management like the plague.
I'm going to end up paying 800 to get out of the contract. Terrible company.

they missed picking up my residential trash last 2 weeks and cannot contact tried calling 941-629-**** and went to web site with absolutly no help.
