We signed a contract with WM to service our small apartment building. The contract was 1/2 page and stated our bill would be under $400/month. The VERY small print directed us to a vague website and chart to determine fuel charges--this was NEVER EXPLAINED WHEN WE SIGNED, therefore we had no idea what we were getting into--this was our first waste management contract.

Our first bill was nearly $600 and continues to rise. We contacted our sales rep who said we were out of luck--that a more clear agreement instituted AFTER we signed and she was oh so sorry. She also alleged that she explained the fees would be nearly $600...but this was AFTER we signed the agreement.

She also said, in so many words, to go ahead and sue...that we would lose and it would end up costing us more money. She offered us a free month or reduced service.

We have since used two other companies at two other properties, BOTH companies, one extremely large, describe their fees up front on the contract.

mblinebaugh wrote the review because of "unfair contract/sales" at Waste Management. Reviewer claimed that he or she lost $4000 and wants Waste Management to "out of the contract".

The most disappointing in user's experience was contract, lying sales person, unfair practices and threatening me with a lawsuit. The author asks this business to immediately contact him/ her to briefly discuss his/ her negative experience with the company.

Waste Management definitely deceives their consumers this way. It is ridiculous to pay 45% + over their waste disposal rate. Wish we could collectively get them to straighten up

Same EXACT thing happened with my wife's dumpster at her dental practice. After using them monthly for years she gets this deceptive contract and blindly signed it without showing it to our attorney (she's very busy and hey, it's just the garbage disposal - right?).

Now we learn we are locked in to a contract for three years with rates going up every 6 months. Cancellation fee will be $1900 but if we stay we will have paid them over $8000.

We will cancel.F**k Waste Management.
